Pu'olu

A pu'olu is a traditional wrapping and carrier for a lei.  As you can see, they are easy to make.  This one was made of 12 small ti leaves for a small lei.  Pu'olu are also used to make offerings, centerpieces, or to hold gifts, usually of food.

Headbands

Headbands are a fun and easy way to create a headpiece.  Inexpensive headbands can be bought at the drugstore and left as-is, or wrapped with ribbon as in this example.

Flowers are tied onto the band using the wili method, usually starting an inch or two from the center and moving towards the end.  Once tied, a decorative ribbon can be added to hide the stems and tie.  A ti leaf rose or two is also a pretty ending.
